Studio Policies

These policies are designed to keep Dearth Studios running smoothly and ensure every client has the time, equipment, and production environment reserved for their session.

Booking & Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to reserve a standard studio session.
  • The standard studio rate is $1,000 for an 8-hour booking.
  • Additional studio time may be added at $100 per hour, subject to studio and engineer availability.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Standard bookings may be rescheduled once with at least 7 days’ notice, subject to studio availability.
  • Cancellations, rescheduling requests, or other booking changes made within 7 days of the scheduled session are non-refundable.
  • No-shows forfeit the full booking fee.
  • Dearth Studios may, at its sole discretion, choose to issue a refund, credit, or other accommodation in exceptional circumstances. Any such exception does not change the standard cancellation policy.

Late Arrivals

  • Your booking begins and ends at the originally scheduled time.
  • Arriving late does not extend your reservation or reduce the booking price.
  • Additional time may be purchased at $100 per hour if the studio and engineer are available.

Early Completion

  • Clients are welcome to finish their session early, but unused studio time does not reduce the booking price or create a credit toward a future session.

Food & Drinks

  • Food and drinks are permitted in the studio, but they must be kept away from cameras, microphones, audio equipment, computers, lighting equipment, and other studio gear.
  • Clients are responsible for themselves and their guests. Any damage to Dearth Studios equipment or property caused by spills, food, drinks, negligence, or misuse may be charged to the client.

Equipment & Property Damage

  • Clients are responsible for damage caused by themselves, their guests, or equipment and materials they bring into the studio.
  • Clients may be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement when Dearth Studios equipment or property is damaged due to misuse, negligence, spills, or other client-related incidents.

Outside Equipment & Set Pieces

  • Clients may bring their own production equipment, furniture, props, branding, signage, and other set pieces with advance notice.
  • Dearth Studios may review outside equipment and set pieces to ensure they can be safely and reasonably accommodated within the studio.

File Delivery

  • Production sessions include delivery of: the live multi-camera cut, all individual camera footage, and all individual audio tracks.
  • Session files will also be uploaded to Dearth Studios’ online storage for ongoing client access and download.
  • Clients who bring a hard drive may choose to wait after their session while their footage is transferred or arrange to pick up their drive at a later time.
  • Dearth Studios recommends that clients download and maintain their own backup copy of all delivered files.

Residency

Weekly Studio Residency Policies

Weekly Studio Residency

  • The Weekly Studio Residency allows clients to reserve one or more recurring 8-hour production days each week.
  • Each recurring 8-hour studio day is $1,000.
  • Weekly Studio Residencies require an 8-week minimum commitment.
  • Residency clients may reserve more than one recurring production day per week, subject to studio availability.
  • Additional studio time may be added to any residency session at $100 per hour, subject to studio and engineer availability.

Residency Billing

  • Each recurring 8-hour studio day is billed 7 days before the scheduled shoot date.
  • If a residency includes more than one recurring production day per week, each reserved day is billed separately 7 days in advance of that specific shoot date.
  • Residency clients remain responsible for all reserved production days during their 8-week minimum commitment.

Reserved Residency Days

  • Residency days are held exclusively for the client and are unavailable for other studio bookings.
  • Because that time is reserved specifically for the client, skipped residency sessions are non-refundable and cannot be credited toward future bookings.
  • The residency fee applies whether or not the client uses the reserved studio day.

Residency Set Storage

  • Approved set pieces may remain stored at Dearth Studios only while future filming is scheduled.
  • If a residency ends or no additional sessions are planned, all client-owned set pieces and materials must be removed immediately.
